DCSD Art Exhibition

The annual art exhibition of the Douglas County School District highlights the creative endeavors of remarkable student artists. Students from kindergarten through twelfth grade are recognized for their talents. We congratulate the artists selected for this event, and invite family and community members to view the exhibition. 

Welcome!

The 2025 DCSD Art Exhibition at the new DCSD Legacy Campus (formally the Wildlife Experience), located at 10035 S Peoria St, Lone Tree, CO 80134. Please join us in celebrating student artists by attending this event.

Awards

Names of award recipients will be shared with teachers. Those teachers will contact students who have won awards.

Awards will be granted in the following categories: 

 

Elementary Awards

Awards for both 2D and 3D art will be given to each feeder area (Castle Rock, Parker, Highlands Ranch East, Highlands Ranch West )

  • Primary  K-2

  • Intermediate 3-6

Middle & High School Awards

Awards for each art discipline:

  • Drawing

  • Painting

  • Photography

  • Printmaking

  • Ceramics & Glass

  • Sculpture

  • Mixed Media 

  • Jewelry (high school only)

  • Digital Art (high school only)

  • Commercial Art & Graphic Design (high school only)

Legacy Awards

This prestigious honor is bestowed upon a select few student artists whose work will be displayed throughout the Legacy Campus during the 2025/26 school year (artwork will be returned at the end of the school year).

As a recipient of this award, these artists will contribute to the vibrant and inspiring atmosphere of the Legacy Campus, providing enjoyment and inspiration to students, staff, and visitors alike. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your talent and creativity in a prominent setting.

Wilcox Awards

New this year! Similar to the Legacy Award, artists presented with this award will have their work displayed in the historic Wilcox Building in Downtown Castle Rock for the the 2025/26 school year (artwork will be returned at the end of the school year). The Wilcox building serves as the home for district administration and the opportunity to display artwork there gives student artists exposure to new  audiences.

"The Douglas County School District (DCSD) Board of Education approved a plan to purchase and renovate the former CU South and Wildlife Experience facility into a 175,000 square foot Legacy Campus. The centrally located facility would enable DCSD to further expand offerings for in-demand Career and Technical Education (CTE), Concurrent Enrollment (CE) and other opportunities for students to graduate prepared for careers in rapidly growing industries. DCSD is committed to partnering with postsecondary institutions and industry partners to develop a talent pipeline of postsecondary and entrepreneurial ready students and workers for the Douglas County community." From the Legacy Campus website
